Adidas AG announced it has teamed up with the popular manga series titled “Bocchi The Rock” to create a new anime-inspired pair of shoes. This will be the German sports apparel and sneaker maker’s latest collaboration to feature characters from the Japanese anime scene.
It was noted that Adidas previously featured “Dragon Ball” and “Yu-Gi-Oh” to create new designs for its Japanese market. And this time, the company is back with a new offering and unveiled a fresh collection in partnership with “Bocchi the Rock.”
The manga series has been adapted into animation, and fans love the Kessoku Band characters. They are stylish and colorful dressers, and now Adidas is adapting their styles to make real-life footwear that resembles the anime characters’ fashion styles.
The new anime sneaker collection is set to be launched in stores in Japan. The upcoming Adidas x Anime collection will present an exciting new Adidas line that will put a spotlight on the all-girls band - the Bocchi the Rock group, which is composed of Hitori Gotoh, the lead guitarist and lyricist; Nijika Ijichi, the drummer and leader of the group; Ryo Yamada, bassist and backup vocalist; and Ikuyo Kita, guitarist and vocals.
The girls will have their Adidas line, and the company is set to release a promotional campaign to show a sneak peek of its latest anime collection. The short promo clip showed the members of the Bocchi the Rock strolling down a busy street, wearing their stylish Adidas sneakers.
In any case, the new sneakers will initially be released in the Japanese market, and there is no word yet if these will also make it to the international market. Meanwhile, Anime India reported that Adidas will launch anime-inspired shoes this summer.
