Dr Peter Hayes is a research fellow at Central Queensland University’s Appleton Institute (Adelaide). Peter’s human factors and psychology-based research is primarily undertaken in the emergency management sector. His interests span emergency management teamwork and decision making (i.e., non-technical skills), simulation-based training, and the use of social media in the emergency management sector.
Over the last couple of years he has been working on a Bushfire and Natural Hazards CRC project to help translate research into emergency management operations. Alongside academic research, he has written a variety of research utilisation and training resources for AFAC, the national council for fire and emergency services.
