My academic focus is developing the exceptional potential of educational opportunities in primary care and general practice, and incorporating social justice and public engagement into the training of health professionals. I work with third sector organisations supporting unpaid carers, and, previously with survivors of torture, trafficking and modern day slavery. I have international educational development experience principally in Spain, Latin America and currently in the Middle East – which allows me to make links between the global and the local in my teaching and research.
