“Young Justice” season 3 was surprisingly canceled in 2013 and Warner Bros. did it after airing just two seasons. Since then, despite the fervent campaign of the fans, nothing was heard about the superheroes animation -- until 2016, when it was announced that it has been revived.
Warner Bros revealed that “Young Justice” season 3 has a new title and it is now called “Young Justice: Outsiders.” With the revival, why did the studio decide to get it back on TV?
“The affection that fans have had for 'Young Justice,' and their rallying cry for more episodes, has always resonated with us.” Sam Register, president of Warner Bros. Animation, explained, via DC Comics. “We are excited to bring the show back for this loyal fanbase and to provide an opportunity for new viewers to discover this excellent series.”
Moreover, after “Young Justice” season 3 was canceled, creators Brandon Vietti and Greg Weisman, who are both returning to the series, said that they will have lots of ideas for the animation so its revival was a "wish come true."
“We have a bunch more stories we want to tell,” Polygon quoted Weisman as saying. “So we hope we get a fourth season.”
What to Expect, Plot
The season's official trailer was unveiled at the San Diego Comic-Con in July. It shows that “Young Justice” season 3 will pick up from the dramatic events that transpired in the second season. It also appears that all the superheroes are going to reunite in order to defeat the meta-human trafficking organization. Fans can also expect to see an array of villains ranging from aliens to evil corporations and the Earth’s corrupt governments.
New Characters
“Young Justice” season 3 will showcase some new superheroes. Fans will see Forager, Stephanie Brown (a.k.a. Spoiler), Cissie King-Jones (a.k.a. Arrowette) and Traci Thirteen (13). Weisman also said that they will be adding Bash Bashford in “Young Justice: Outsiders.”
Episodes and Air Date
“Young Justice” season 3 was confirmed to be in production already and it is expected to arrive in 2019. As shared during the SDCC 2017, there will be 26 episodes this season.
