“World of Warcraft Classic” developer Blizzard Entertainment announced that they are adding another day of stress test. It was not part of the original announcement, and it is already happening this week.
As scheduled, the first batch of “World of Warcraft Classic” stress test went live last Wednesday and Thursday. However, a community manager with username Bornakk in the Blizzard forums revealed that they were not able to cover all aspect they intended for the first “World of Warcraft Classic” stress test because of several issues that came up during the event.
This has resulted in Blizzard adding a new schedule of stress test for the “World of Warcraft Classic” closed beta this week. It will happen on Wednesday, May 29, at 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. PDT. The realm included in this testing can be accessed exactly at that given time, and the highest level that participating players can reach is 10.
As mentioned, “World of Warcraft Classic” is in closed beta. This means that signing up for the program does not guarantee access. Players and fans must note that only those who received an official email of invitation from Blizzard are the ones who can join the stress tests. In an earlier announcement, Blizzard said they intend to add more players invited to join in the closed beta and stress tests as the date of “World of Warcraft Classic’s” release date nears.
In the previous weeks, there were reports that some people are trying to scam fans by selling them a so-called “beta key.” But that does not exist as invitations are sent through email. “To fill our pool of beta and stress test participants, we’ll be choosing dedicated players who meet select criteria from both the ‘WoW Classic’ beta opt-in and the standard ‘Warcraft’ beta opt-in,” Blizzard explained.
Meanwhile, after the first round of stress tests, two more batches will follow in the coming months — on June 19-20 and on July 18-19. The full version of “World of Warcraft Classic” will be released on Tuesday, Aug. 27.
