TEL AVIV, Israel, Feb. 03, 2016 -- Leading web development platform Wix.com (Nasdaq:WIX) shared its 30-second Super Bowl 50 commercial today. The spot will be airing during the 3rd quarter of the CBS broadcast on February 7th.
Wix’s spot features characters from DreamWorks Animation’s Kung Fu Panda 3 contemplating the idea of promoting Mr. Ping’s Noodle Shop with the ultimate marketing scheme — a Super Bowl commercial. However, they soon realize that the true cornerstone of every successful business promotion is to #StartStunning with a Wix website.
As part of its #StartStunning campaign, the web development platform has released multiple funny, made-for-web teasers showing the characters testing “out-of-the-box” marketing tactics that business owners may think are essential for promoting their ventures. The Super Bowl commercial, and all other campaign materials, have been developed in collaboration with DreamWorks Animation. Watch the commercial here: https://youtu.be/7jIA3eFtSOM
“For our second Super Bowl appearance we went for a direct message: the first step to a successful business is to create a stunning website. With Wix, regardless of size or advertising budget, everyone can tell their own story,” said Omer Shai, Wix.com’s CMO. “We wanted a spot that will resonate with the tens of millions of people who will see it. And how better than to give a nod to iconic Super Bowl commercials within our own ad.”
“One realizes how iconic Old Spice marketing creative has become when you see Po from Kung Fu Panda 3 take on the manly Old Spice guy persona from our timeless ‘The Man Your Man Could Smell Like’ spot,” said Janine Miletic, Old Spice Brand Director at Procter & Gamble. “We’re truly honored to be included in Wix’s tribute to memorable Super Bowl commercials this year.”
Coming off the heels of last year’s successful #ItsThatEasy campaign, Wix’s repeat-performance at the Super Bowl is part of a continued strategy to position the company as the leading platform for creating, managing and growing a business online.
