“Vikings” Season 5 premiered in November 2017 and the finale was shown in January of this year. However, that was only the first part, as the season’s 20 episodes were divided into two, thus the second half has yet to air.
“Vikings” Season 5’s next 10 episodes are almost here and here are some details and spoilers to know ahead of the release.
The drama will be hectic as a series of battles is expected to take place in Kattegat. One of the showdowns in “Vikings” season 5 will involve Ivar (Alex Høgh Andersen) and Lagertha Lothbrok (Katheryn Winnick), and it is rumored that the latter will perish in a fight. However, it is not certain which battle it will be.
As suggested in an Express report, Ivar the Boneless will win in the fight and eventually hold Lagertha captive. She will escape and try to get back her throne. The bloody encounters as Lagertha fights for her seat may lead to her death.
But who would kill her in “Vikings” season 5? In her interview with TV Guide, Katheryn Winnick dropped major clues about this. She revealed that one of Ragnar’s sons is going to be her killer.
“I think in her mind, once the Seer prophesized that one day she'll be killed by the son of Ragnar, it really shifted her focus and allows Lagertha to be able to look at all sons as possible threats,” she said.
Now, if one of them is destined to kill her based on the Seer’s prophecy, will it be Ivar? Ubbe? Or even her own son Bjorn?
The actress said that she could not reveal who exactly it will be but at this point, Queen Lagertha is very wary and can’t fully trust anyone. “And that's why it brought me to our first point, which is that she really needs to rely on herself more than anyone else,” Winnick shared.
The actress is also set to make her directorial debut but it will not happen in “Vikings” season 5 but in the sixth installment. Monsters and Critics reported that she will be directing one episode but did not say which one it will be in the season’s 20 episodes.
Meanwhile, “Vikings” season 5 will premiere on Nov. 28 at 9 p.m. on History.
