Uphold, a cloud based financial services platform, has announced the launch of its iOS app, enabling users to access their Uphold account in the palm of their hand.
Launched by Halsey Minor in November 2014, Uphold is one of the world’s leading platforms for moving, converting, transacting and holding any form of money or commodity. In less than a year, it has transacted more than $891 million and launched in 174 countries.
Uphold iOS app allows members to:
- Send money to anyone, anywhere, in any supported currency, instantly and for free
- Convert funds between any of the supported currencies - including two cryptocurrencies and four precious metals
- Buy, sell, hold and send bitcoin
- Fund accounts via bitcoin
- Verify recent transactions
- Transfer value instantly between Money Cards, hold funds in any various currencies
- In-store bitcoin payments anywhere bitcoin is accepted by scanning a QR code
- Receive payments in bitcoin via an in app QR code
The app requires iOS 9.0 or later versions and is compatible with iPhone, iPad and iPod touch. For developers, Uphold’s iOS SDK is also now available to meet a large range of financial services needs.
Uphold is also available for Android users. Users can download the app in the Google Play store for free.
The launch of the iOS app follows Uphold’s recent partnership with leading cryptocurrency exchange Bittrex, allowing real-time market pricing for its members to exchange Voxel, Litecoin and Ethereum into a wide range of fiat currencies, including the US dollar, Euro, Chinese yuan, Indian rupee, Japanese yen and British pound, as well as precious metals, including gold and silver.
