CHARLESTON, S.C., April 20, 2017 -- Critical Solutions International (CSI) announced today that Army Contracting Command – Warren has placed the first order against the Husky Long Term Contract awarded to the company last month for route clearance and counter-improvised explosive device (C-IED) vehicles, equipment and services. This order will allow CSI to quickly respond to the growing international demand for proven clearance and C-IED capabilities.

The $29.5 million order includes twenty (20) Husky 2G Protected Payload Delivery Vehicles, the latest base Husky configuration, with the two-operator 2G cabin design, Q-Net RPG Protection Systems, 360° Situational Awareness Camera Systems and featuring the new J1939 CAN-bus digital architecture. The configuration allows for forward compatibility with additional sensors and payloads including ground penetrating radars, interrogation arms, and remote weapon stations.
Rapid Response to the Enduring Threat.
The DoD funded the order with 2016 Special Defense Acquisition Funds (SDAF), a security cooperation tool that permits the DoD to finance the purchase of defense articles in anticipation of their sale and transfer to partner nations. Given the scale of route clearance challenges currently faced by U.S. allies and the forecast for C-IED and clearance requirements, the Husky 2G was determined to be an ideal candidate for an SDAF purchase.
“We are excited and humbled by the opportunity to create a ready inventory of the most survivable route clearance vehicles in the world for our allies with urgent needs,” stated Heather Schoetz, CSI’s Chief Strategy Officer. “This order demonstrates the U.S. Government’s confidence that the Husky 2G is truly an enduring capability in the C-IED fight.”
CSI is the world’s leading provider of total package route clearance solutions. An essential supplier of the U.S. countermine and route clearance community, CSI’s products lead the way in the safe detection and neutralization of explosive threats. For more information please visit www.c-s-i.com
