‘Thor 4’ Release Date, Speculations: Which Avenger Will Appear in the Fourth Film?

Following the epic conclusion of “Avengers: End Game,” fans have been asking when “Thor 4” will be released. Unfortunately, it appears that the fourth film might be a few years away as it may hit the theatres sometime in 2023, We Got This Covered reported.

The last time that fans saw the God of Thunder (Chris Hemsworth) was during the end of “Avengers: End Game” when he joined forces with Quill (Chris Pratt) and the rest of his crew. “Guardians of the Galaxy 3” will start production in 2020 and is expected to come out in 2021 or 2022 depending on how that process sails. “Thor 4” will follow suit and have Hemsworth flying solo yet again.

As of this writing, there’s no confirmation which Avenger will join the Asgardian in the fourth entry. However, seeing the bond that Rocket (Bradley Cooper) and Groot (Vin Diesel) has made throughout the years, both these characters are speculated to appear in “Thor 4.”

Regarding where the release date rumors came from, Reddit user TheMarvelScoopMaster is the source of the speculation. The leaker is apparently a trusted source and has proven himself in the past. Meanwhile, Tessa Thompson – the actress who played Valkyrie – supposedly said that someone already pitched “Thor 4” to Marvel, ScreenGeek reported.

Unfortunately, nothing relevant has come up so far with regards to the film’s plot. But “Thor 4” will indeed be happening seeing how the third entry performed at the box office. Garnering $854 million during the movie’s run has solidified its standing.

As for who will be at the helm, it’s likely that renowned director Taika Waititi will be tasked to oversee its creation. Waititi’s take on the God of Thunder proved to be a massive hit among audiences as he masterfully weaved in rumor and action in a gripping dance that ultimately ended in Asgard’s demise. “Thor 4” could very much be centered on this as the hero may be looking to find a new home for the surviving Asgardians.

That’s right, some of them survived following the destruction caused by Thanos (Josh Brolin). It’s not clear how exactly they slipped through, but Joe Russo said they did so via escape pods. Thus, “Thor 4” might be focusing on Thor’s plight in creating a home for his remaining people.
