All the recent news about “The Winds of Winter” hints that it is close to getting released. Meanwhile, there is also a great possibility for it to become the longest installment ever in the “A Song of Ice and Fire” saga.

After a seven-year hiatus, author George R.R. Martin has reportedly gone into “hiding” in a location away from distractions. The ultimate goal is to focus on “The Winds of Winter” which fans have since interpreted as a positive sign regarding the book’s elusive release date announcement.

Aside from speculating on “The Winds of Winter” release date, there have also been discussions about the volume of pages the highly anticipated book will have. It was previously speculated that the upcoming book will most likely have 1,500 pages — several hundred more than its predecessor “A Dance with Dragons.”

However, famous “Game of Thrones” theorist BryndenBFish suggested the possibility that “The Winds of Winter” has way more content than that. He is confident about correctly estimating that George R.R. Martin worked on the sixth book “at his average ‘ADWD’ pace.”

This could mean the author already had 1,500 pages as early as 2016. With the writing of “The Winds of Winter” still going on in 2018, the overall content of the book may even be up to 2,000 pages upon its official release.

With Martin’s “Fire and Blood” already in stores on Tuesday, he reportedly proceeded to a secret cabin to finish “The Winds of Winter.” History suggests that, at this point, the author could just be a month away from completing the book.

Martin has finished some other book and TV projects in the previous years, which made demanding fans question whether “The Winds of Winter” is even on the author’s to-do list. But Martin explained that the sixth “ASoIaF” book requires more complicated writing than his other projects.

“I have like 10 different novels and I’m juggling the timeline — here’s what’s happening to Tyrion, here’s what’s happening to Dany, and how they intersect. That’s far more complicated,” George R.R. Martin told Entertainment Weekly about working on “The Winds of Winter.”
