‘The Walking Dead’ Season 7B Spoilers: Norman Reedus Reveals Daryl Ready for Revenge; Lennie James Hints at Growing Bond Between Morgan, Carol

‘The Walking Dead’ season 7B is set to feature the return of Norman Reedus as Daryl Dixon. The actor revealed that his character will be ready to extract revenge on Negan and the Saviors together with Rick. Meanwhile, Lennie James hinted at the growing bond between his character Morgan and Melissa McBride’s Carol.

During an interview with Entertainment Weekly, Reedus revealed that his character Daryl will be returning with a vengeance on the latter half of the seventh season of ‘The Walking Dead.’

The 48-year old actor said, “He wants revenge… He’s ready to fight. When he goes back in that last episode and hands Rick back his stuff, it was like, ‘Let’s go! Let’s go beat this guy up. Let’s go take what’s ours and fight this monster.’ So, you know, he’s in kill mode.”

Daryl is one of the main protagonists of the horror-drama television series based on the comic book series of the same name created by Robert Kirkman, Tony Moore, and Charlie Adlard.

Although not part of the original comic books, the fan-favorite was first introduced into the series as an expert tracker and hunter with exceptional survival skills. He is also known to possess aggressive, reckless and impulsive behavior but soon becomes an integral part of Rick’s (Andrew Lincoln) group.

Season 7’s first half proved to be a difficult one for Daryl after he was abducted by Negan (Jeffrey Dean Morgan) and his Saviors to live out his life as a prisoner in their camp. Episode 3, titled “The Cell,” followed Daryl as he was forced to succumb to physical, emotional, and psychological torment at the Sanctuary.

In the mid-season finale, titled “Hearts Still Beating,” Daryl manages to escape his cell at the Saviors’ compound and kills off Fat Joey before fleeing with Jesus (Tom Payne) on a motorcycle. They arrive at Hilltop where the rest of the Alexandrians are gathering. Daryl finally reunites with Rick and gives him a gun he stole from Fat Joey.

It seems that Daryl will finally regain his old self in season 7B and will help in Rick’s fight against the Saviors.

Meanwhile, Lennie James hinted his character Morgan’s growing relationship with fellow Alexandrian Carol (Melissa McBride). During an interview with International Business Times UK, James expressed his enthusiasm over working with McBride saying, "No character on our show epitomizes that more than Carol and what Melissa has done with that character. She's completely transformed from the battered and frail housewife to a ninja killer. The best warrior that we have.”

He continued, “Consequently, putting her together with Morgan who's [also] gone through his transformations means that as an audience, we're aware of their history and what's possible between them."

In the previous season, Morgan and Carol clashed constantly because of their differing beliefs and perspectives when it came to survival. However, the two characters’ relationship dynamics began shifting to that of understanding and respect.

James added, “I love what the writers are doing with the relationship between Morgan and Carol because it is complex, it is possibly deep and it could go well or it could really go wrong and both of the consequences of that would be really interesting. So as much as the fans hopefully, I'm looking forward to what happens with those two next."

‘The Walking Dead’ season 7B is expected to return on AMC in the United States on February 12, 2017 and Fox in the United Kingdom on February 13.
