“The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” finally aired, and its release date window and production alone has raised some debates among fans. It now appears that these talks will not end, especially after episode 1 was received with mostly negative reactions from avid anime viewers.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods’ episode 1: Fans call out apparent censorship of supposedly bloody scenes

Some of the things that make this entire series popular through the years are the fight scenes that occur between characters and creatures. This is one of the animated content that is not exactly for the younger viewers, which is similar to numerous anime titles.

However, that has been established in the previous seasons. And that is likely why the lack of bloody scenes and gore animations did not sit well with many fans who saw “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 1 air last week.

Reports have it that some portion of “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 1 was dedicated to a recap of the previous events before diving into new story contents. And when it did, fans were still purportedly disappointed to see that, in the fight scenes, all the blood has been colored white instead of red.

At this point, producers have yet to address this sudden change in the animation approach. But the speculations that it was due to censorship has started to spread. Additionally, fans noticed that all the scenes where gristly images would have been present where apparent covered with black markings. This is another factor that seems to further ignite fans’ hunch that these “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 1 scenes had been censored for some reason.

The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods’ animation rushed? Where to watch the new season?

Some fans might say they are not surprised by the recent backlash over the quality of “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” episode 1. It can be recalled that earlier this year, rumors spread that the production of the third season faced some serious challenges.

Yonkou Productions reported last August that there was “less than a year” to find a studio that would work on “The Seven Deadly Sins: Wrath of the Gods” and meet the fall season schedule. The same source added that while the project was under Studio Deen, the company reportedly outsourced the work to another studio called March Jack. A new episode airs every Wednesday, but fans in the United States and other territories have yet to hear an official channel where they could watch the new season.
