Suri Cruise's life is full of surprises. The child of megastars Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes has usually been in the spotlight with regards to how her parent's divorce has affected her. But much recently, Suri Cruise may want the spotlight to be about her rather than her parents' relationship.
Hollywood Life recently came out with an insider report that the 12-year-old Cruise was interested in pursuing her parents' footsteps in the acting profession. Katie Holmes is reportedly showing her support by signing up Suri Cruise for one-on-one acting classes. Suri Cruise is also rumored to be undergoing singing and music classes too. According to the publication, Suri's desire to become an actress stems from her experience on the set of “The Kennedys: After Camelot,” where Katie Holmes played the role of Jacqueline Kennedy Onassis.
Suri Cruise's father, Tom Cruise, may not be totally on board with his daughter starting her acting career so young. Still, the elder Cruise may have to give Suri Cruise her space when it comes to her passion as Tom Cruise himself knew as young as 4 years of age that he wanted to become an actor.
While Tom Cruise's first professional role was in 1981's military school film “Taps,” his aspirations were definitely from his younger years, before “Top Gun” made him a superstar. Suri Cruise starting her preparations for stardom at 12 years old may not be as bad as the “Mission Impossible” star may think.
Hopefully, fans of Suri Cruise will be able to catch the young aspiring starlet in her first professional role in the next few years. And even if Tom Cruise supposedly does not wholly agree with Suri Cruise starting so young, maybe the younger Cruise's entry into professional acting can deepen the relationship between the separated father and daughter.
