Summer has officially started, and so is the much-awaited Steam Summer Sale. One of the biggest digital PC games stores is currently offering a long list of discounted titles, including AAA games available for half their original prices.
‘Battlefield V: Definitive Edition’
With the arrival of “Battlefield 2042” on Oct. 22, fans of first-person shooter games may want to check out the franchise’s latest installment “Battlefield V.” Its Definitive Edition, which regularly costs $49.99, is currently on sale for $12.49 only after a hefty 75 percent discount. The bundle includes the base game and the customization content released for its Year 1 and Year 2 roadmaps.
‘Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice’
FromSoftware has been in the headlines over the past few weeks for revealing the gameplay trailer and release date of “Elden Ring.” The game will not release until Jan. 21, 2022, though. So to get more familiar with why there is so much anticipation on the studio’s next project, PC gamers may want to check out its 2019 project “Sekiro: Shadows Die Twice.” Steam Summer Sale offers its Game of the Year Edition for only $29.99 after a 50 percent discount. The collection includes added boss challenge modes Reflection and Gauntlet of Strength, the gameplay feature Remnants, and three unlockable skins.
‘Mortal Kombat 11’
“Mortal Kombat 11” is the latest addition to the main series of the popular fighting game with special moves that were only introduced in this title called Fatal Blows and Krushing Blows. The base game also comes with a new character customization system that lets players choose different outfits, moves, and weapons. Thanks to 70 percent via Steam Summer Sale, the game is currently available for $14.99 instead of $49.99.
‘Halo: The Master Chief Collection’
New fans of the “Halo” franchise who have yet to subscribe to Xbox Game Pass might want to enjoy older titles at a bargain. Steam Summer Sale offers the “Halo: The Master Chief Collection” for only $19.99, instead of $39.99.
Aside from the multiplayer gameplay, the bundle comes with campaigns from older titles “Halo: Reach,” “Halo: Combat Evolved Anniversary,” “Halo 2: Anniversary,” “Halo 3,” “Halo 3: ODST Campaign,” and “Halo 4.” It is a great way to prepare for the much-awaited launch of “Halo Infinite” this holiday.
‘The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – GOTY’
CD Projekt Red – despite what happened to “Cyberpunk 2077” – has earned its spot as one of the studios that make great RPG titles in the industry, and “The Witcher 3: Wild Hunt – GOTY” is a good reminder of that. Fans who may have only known of the developer through “Cyberpunk 2077” may want to revisit the game with its expansions “Blood and Wine” and “Hearts of Stone” for only $9.99.
These games are available at discounted prices right now. Note, though, that the Steam Summer Sale will only run until Thursday, July 8.
