MINNEAPOLIS, MN, April 04, 2018 -- Solutran announced it has successfully begun processing Electronic Benefit Transfer (EBT) transactions for the Arkansas Women, Infants and Children (WIC) Program pilot. The statewide EBT program is scheduled to rollout this summer.
Solutran provides Smart Card and online WIC EBT technologies and is the only processor providing both solutions. Smart Card WIC EBT provides comprehensive WIC functionality with unique Smart Card security. WIC EBT will improve the shopping experience for all participating Arkansas households at authorized retailers.
“Superior service can only occur with great technology as the foundation, and that is what we are providing to the Arkansas WIC Program with our proprietary S3™ EBT technology,” said Brian May, General Manager of Government EBT at Solutran. “Solutran is proud to serve Arkansas’s needs for WIC EBT.”
To date, Solutran has processed over 60 million EBT transactions representative of over $1.4 billion in food purchased at more than 6,000 retail vendors. Solutran has provided processing support for WIC programs since 1989 for 72 state and Inter-Tribal Organization WIC Programs across the country.
