The “Top 10” most innovative technology companies are chosen from among TAG’s "Top 40" 2017 list and were chosen based on a number of criteria, including: degree of innovation; scope and financial impact of innovation; likelihood of success; and promotion of Georgia's innovative efforts nationally and internationally.
"The Top 10 awards are given to an elite group of companies whose products and solutions are not only changing their respective industries, they are also putting Georgia on the map as a state where technology innovation can thrive," said Larry Williams, president & CEO of TAG. "We applaud each of these companies for standing out as leaders in Georgia's technology community and look forward to showcasing them at our annual Georgia Technology Summit."
At the 2015 Georgia Technology Summit, Sharecare was recognized as a Top 10 Innovative Technology for its consumer-focused health and wellness engagement platform, and won the “People’s Choice” Best in Show. At the 2017 Georgia Technology Summit, Sharecare will demonstrate how it is leading the visual health revolution by utilizing virtual, augmented and mixed reality to improve communications about medical diagnoses and treatments. In addition to helping educational institutions, medical device manufacturers and pharmaceutical companies obtain unprecedented visual context to discuss healthy physiology, disease and treatment, Sharecare is introducing unique, highly interactive storytelling techniques to enhance patient education and engagement. By combining real-time simulation of the human body with 360-degree video and augmented reality to provide patients and providers with scientifically accurate, deep visualizations of conditions, disease states and therapies, Sharecare is inspiring people to better understand and improve their health.
