“Shadowhunters” Season 3 Episode 11 will herald the beginning of the end for the supernatural drama. Freeform, the show’s mother network, decided to ax the series, citing “economic” reasons, OtakuArt reported.

While there might be a chance that the people behind Freeform might change their mind or that the show will be picked up by another network, the chances of it happening are extremely thin. “Shadowhunters” Season 3 Episode 11 is titled “Lost Souls.”

In the previous episodes, the supernatural drama introduced a new villain called Lilith (Anna Hopkins). She is described as a powerful Greater Demon and the Queen of Edom. It’s still unclear how this new antagonist will affect “Shadowhunters” Season 3 Episode 11 and the storyline moving forward but she’s expected to dish out some major conflicts.

In the show, Lilith is the first wife of Adam in the Garden of Eden before she was cast out of paradise, with her banishment paired with a curse to never able to bear children. But she does have a “son” with the help of experiments. “Shadowhunters” Season 3 Episode 11 will feature this villain more, who is expected to be the main antagonist in the final battle that will conclude the series.

And speaking of battles, it seems that Freeform is giving the supernatural drama an explosive ending. While “Shadowhunters” Season 3 Episode 11 will not have heavy visual effects, its finale is going to be chock full of them.

The show has always struggled with VFX because of budget constraints but the crew for the final season apparently managed to up the ante and give the show loads of mind-blowing special effects. The trailer didn’t provide a sneak peek at any of it, although it did have a chilling line which said: “Together, we will usher in a new dawn.” Freeform hasn’t given any information when “Shadowhunters” Season 3 Episode 11 will air but it’s expected to drop sometime around the spring of 2019.
