Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe tease fans by spilling new details about drama and say ‘Outlander’ season 5 ‘is unfortunate’

Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are currently starring as Jamie and Claire Fraser in the “Outlander” series, which is no its fifth season. This is a much-awaited drama as the development of the story is getting deeper and more complicated.

The Fraser family has expanded too, and it is not just about the undying love between Jamie and Claire, but their daughter and her family have joined them in the Fraser’s Ridge now. They also have extended family members, and it keeps growing; thus, the story is also expanding to show everyone’s story.

New drama details

Now, the “Outlander” season 5 is not yet out, but Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe have been filming already. In fact, they might be nearing the completion of the shoot, so it will be released in no time. According to Express, Heughan shared that his family will be torn apart in the upcoming installment.

Claire and Jamie will find it hard to keep their family together, so they will really struggle in this season. With Brianna Fraser (Sophie Skelton), Roger MacKenzie (Richard Rankin), and their baby Jeremy now living with them, the family will be hit with obstacles because the Revolutionary war is also happening.

Jamie will struggle the most because he was caught in the middle even before season 5 arrives. It can be recalled that he was tasked to hunt Murtagh Fitzgibbons (Duncan Lacroix), who is his godfather and mentor.

Sam Heughan summarized what to expect in their Starz drama. In the cast’s interview with Entertainment Weekly at the New York Comic-Con recently, he told the interviewer, “There is still a lot of humor and a lot of passion and this whole season, I think, is about the family and they are sort of needing each other to fight these exterior forces.”

Caitriona’s regret

As per the report, Caitriona Balfe that there is something that she regretted in “Outlander” season 5, and she said that it is really ”unfortunate.” She said this after realizing that their drama still lacks some elements related to American History, just like what their viewers are expecting.

“It was so beautiful to tell that time in American history,” she said. “It’s unfortunate we don’t have as many elements of that this time, I think it was just so rich and so beautiful.”

Meanwhile, Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe are returning for season 5 of the “Outlander” on Feb. 16, 2020.
