SK Telecom recorded 929.92 Mbps, rising 16.8 percent from 2020, to rank first among the three South Korean mobile carriers in terms of 5G speed and service areas in 2021.
KT hit 762.5 Mbps to clinch second while LG U+ has the slowest at 712.01 Mbps.
KT was 14.2 percent faster than it was in 2020 while LG U+ boosted its speed by 22.3 percent during the period.
The average 5G download speed was 801.48 Mbps, 16.1 percent faster than 2020, while upload speed ascended 31.1 percent to 83 Mbps.
The delay time averaged 18.61 ms for the three South Korean carriers, making a 39.2 percent improvement from 30.62 ms in 2020.
The delay time was 17.09 ms for SK Telecom, 19.32 ms for LG U+, and 19.41 ms for KT.
In terms of 5G coverage areas, SK Telecom was the widest with 22,118 square kilometers, with LG U+ at 18,564 square kilometers, and KT at 16,448 square kilometers.
