“Red Dead Redemption 2” is undoubtedly one of the most highly anticipated upcoming video games around, and Rockstar knows that fans are eagerly waiting for any development involving the title. This is likely why the developer has decided to release the “Red Dead Redemption 2 Complete Official Guide” for its nerdiest fans and collectors.

These days, gamers no longer rely on paperback guides to help them overcome difficult parts of video games because of the internet. If players come up against obstacles that they are having a hard time with, a simple Google search can give them the help they need. Back in the day, though, gamers had to pay for actual guides that are made by speed-runners, and this nostalgia string is what this official guide for “Red Dead Redemption 2” is hitting.

Retailing at €29.99 (around $35 USD) for the Collector’s Edition, this guide is officially endorsed by Rockstar itself, VG247 reports. There’s also a Standard Edition for the “Red Dead Redemption 2” guide, which retails at €24.19 (around $28 USD).

The guide is published by Piggyback Interactive and contains detailed information about the world of “Red Dead Redemption 2,” including some of its secrets. It even comes with an exclusive character gallery, which is a neat feature for collectors.

Considering that this will be a hardcover item made of premium paper and coming with high-quality images, there’s no doubt that dedicated fans of the franchise will want this guide. However, it’s worth pointing out that it really isn’t essential for enjoying “Red Dead Redemption 2.”

Gamers shouldn’t feel pressured to pre-order or to buy the guide since, by and large, it’s likely only intended for those who have disposable income and are already collecting memorabilia related to the game. For those who do end up getting the official guide for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” though, perhaps it’s best to play the game first without opening it for a truly immersive experience.
