“Red Dead Redemption 2” is about to hit the shelves on Oct. 26, so here are a few things that gamers should know before it launches. First of all, Rockstar Games has announced that there is a day one patch so don’t forget to download it before playing.
“As is common for a game of this size and scope, there will be a downloadable title update addressing a number of last minute tweaks, bugs and fixes. To ensure the best possible gameplay experience, we strongly recommend making sure you’ve downloaded this update before launching the game,” Rockstar said in their announcement.
The studio also confirmed that the beta for “Red Dead Online,” the online mode for “Red Dead Redemption 2,” will launch in November as a public beta. So there is a lot to look forward to for gamers who grabbed a copy of the game.
“Using the gameplay of Red Dead Redemption 2 as a foundation, Red Dead Online will be ready to be explored alone or with friends, and will also feature constant updates and adjustments to grow and evolve this experience for all players,” the statement reads.
Access to the online is free for anyone who has a copy of “Red Dead Redemption 2” on the Xbox One or PlayStation 4. Rockstar should share more details in the coming weeks.
Meanwhile, there is still no confirmation of a PC version of “Red Dead Redemption 2.” Rumors that the second “Red Dead Redemption” title is going to be available on the PC started circulating around the internet earlier this year when a former Rockstar employee listed PC as one of the platforms for the game on LinkedIn, but there isn’t any concrete evidence suggesting this is true.
Well, “Red Dead Redemption 2” is specifically made for the console anyway. A PC port remains a possibility, but it is unlikely to come out this year.
