Ramen chain Ippudo introduces plant-based chilled Karaka Ramen in 8 more Japanese branches

The plant-based chilled Karaka Ramen.

Global ramen restaurant chain Ippudo is introducing plant-based chilled Karaka Ramen in eight more locations in Japan for a limited time and in limited quantities for 1,200 yen, including taxes.

There is a daily cap of 20 orders for chilled Karaka ramen per branch. When all items are gone from each of the participating branches, the sale period will be over.

The hiyashi karaka ramen has been available from July 9, exclusively at the Lumine Est Shinjuku branch in Tokyo, and will become available from July 22 at Ginza Branch in Tokyo, Asakusabashi main store in Tokyo, Cubic Plaza Shin-Yokohama, Daimyo, Kumamoto Juzenji Nagoya, Nagahori, and Horie.

The plant-based chilled Karaka Ramen is a vibrant rendition of Ippudo's well-known Karaka Ramen noodles and is a stimulating bowl of cold, delectably spicy noodle soup without the usage of any animal components.

Chinese chile oil and hot sauce add heat to the chilly broth, which is made of kelp dashi and soy milk. The flat, medium-thick noodles are created from Japanese wheat. Noodles made with whole wheat flour are utilized at Ippudo Lumine Est Shinjuku, not the other eight participating Ippudo stores.

Mango, pink grapefruit, pineapple, and fragrant mint are used as tropical color accents, while marinated red cabbage and fried onions are added as toppings to highlight the flavor and texture. To give the soup a spicy bite, veggie meat miso, a plant-based meat alternative, is dissolved into it. A slice of lemon is also included in the dish, which you may squeeze midway through your meal for a tart flavor shift.

Ippudo believes that people who are vegetarians, vegans, or have never experienced plant-based ramen would savor this chilly, flavorful, and spicy meal ideal for summer.
