With the month of July having officially started, PlayStation Plus subscribers are again enjoying a batch of new free games. Following tradition, the free titles comprise six games spread across the Vita, PS3, and PS4. Subscribers wanting to take advantage of these giveaways can already start downloading the titles as they were released on July 3, Game Spot reported.
For the Vita device, the renowned game "Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma" and the action title "Space Overlords" are the ones included on the list. "Zero Escape: Zero Time Dilemma" has been given a rating of 87 percent on Metacritic. The title follows the story of nine characters forced to play a deadly game by a masked figure.
For PS3 users, "Rayman 3 HD" and "Extreme Exorcism" have been allocated for the enjoyment of Plus subscribers. Players looking for a challenge will find plenty of it in both of these titles. Although they’re rather dated, they still possess a retro charm and gameplay that may lure players in for hours of gameplay.
Also, those who have been following the news may have noticed that "Deception IV: The Nightmare Princess" isn’t on this month’s list despite previous reports. That’s because "Extreme Exorcism" replaced the abovementioned game. "Extreme Exorcism" is also available for PS4 users via Cross-Buy.
Finally, for PlayStation Plus subscribers with PS4 consoles, "Heavy Rain" and "Absolver" can now be downloaded for free. Both these titles have received positive reviews from critics and fans alike following their respective releases.
During its launch, "Absolver" was hailed as being different from its peers as it gave players challenging obstacles while providing a fun way of learning its combat system. However, critics pointed out that its world is underdeveloped and could’ve been made more immersive by the developers.
On the other hand, "Heavy Rain" was heavily praised for how well Quantic Dream made the game at the time, scoring 7/10 on GameSpot and 5/5 on Game Rant. However, its control scheme, poor characterization, and bad voice acting may affect a player’s enjoyment of this game, especially if one compares it to the titles recently released. Having said this, PS4 users can still enjoy "Heavy Rain" for the story that it holds if nothing else.
All six of these games are available for download until next month, when they will revert to their normal prices. Also, "Call of Duty: Black Ops III" is still up for grabs with no charges until July 11 for PlayStation Plus subscribers.
