“Ozark” season 3 is up next as the crime drama’s producers already confirmed that it would run for a few more seasons. It is one of Netflix’s originals that fans have bee clamoring for, and finally, after a long wait, it is finally coming very soon.
“Ozark” season 3 was confirmed by Jason Bateman in October 2018, so it has been on hiatus for almost a year and a half already. Its story revolves around the Byrde family, who was forced to flee from their home after getting deeply involved in a dirty money laundering business in Chicago.
The family initially thought that they would live a comfortable life after the head of the family, Marty Byrde, got his business going, but soon, things turned ugly and uncontrollable. Rather than securing a good future for his wife and two children, they are all in danger now and on the run as his business gone wrong after getting entangled with a dangerous Mexican drug lord.
Advance season confirmations
The third drama installment of “Ozark” has yet to be released, and yet, Netflix surprised everyone with the advance renewal of season 4 and 5. This means that the streaming provider ordered episodes for two seasons, so there could be less waiting time for the coming of “Ozark” season 4.
It turned out that since the beginning, Netflix and the drama producers have this plan to make more seasons of up to seventh. Apparently, the drama has a good following and story, as proven by the early renewals.
"We've always talked about it as five seasons,” Chris Mundy, showrunner relayed to The Hollywood Reporter. “It could be four, it could be seven but that always seemed like a good number to us.”
What to expect - Story synopsis
Netflix Life shared that “Ozark” season 3 synopsis reads: “It’s six months later, the casino is up and running, but Marty and Wendy are fighting for control of the family’s destiny. Marty preaches, keeping the status quo. Aided by an alliance with Helen and drug cartel leader Omar Navarro, Wendy plots for expansion.”
It was added that Wendy’s brother Ben would also arrive, and it will be the beginning of more chaos. The Byrde family are now all in and together in this business.
They will not try to protect their business while also saving their family from any harm that comes from the operation of an illegal venture. Moreover, the official trailer was released on March 5, and it offered glimpses to the heart-stopping scenes in “Ozark” season 3.
The cast
“Ozark” season 3 will be back with Jason Bateman as Marty Byrde, Laura Linney as Wendy, Sophia Hublitz as Charlotte, and Skylar Gaertner as Jonah. They will be supported by Julia Garner as Ruth Langmore, Tom Pelphrey, and Jessica Frances Dukes. Madison Thompson is the new cast addition as Erin.
“Ozark” season 3 will premiere on Netflix on March 27.
