'Outer Banks' Season 4 Release Date, Cast and Spoilers: Everything Fans Should Know

“Outer Banks” Season 3 is here, but if you've already binge-watched the first ten episodes, you're probably wondering when you'll receive more. Fortunately, Netflix has given “Outer Banks” Season 4 the green light even before the third installment’s official release.

Most, if not all, fans are already aware of this, as the cast shared the good news during the Outer Banks music festival Poguelandia in Huntington Beach, California. Here is everything we know about the upcoming “Outer Banks” Season 4.

‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Release Date

If we had to estimate, we'd think a summer 2024 release date for “Outer Banks” Season 4 doesn't seem too far-fetched, per Digital Spy. That is, until the Writers Guild of America (WGA) and the Screen Actors Guild (SAG) went on strike.

While the writers' strike ended in September, actors are still fighting for higher compensation and promises that artificial intelligence will not be used to replace them, which has caused work on a number of TV shows and films to be postponed until the matter is resolved. So, unless Hollywood executives strike an arrangement with their performers, all bets on an “Outer Banks” Season 4 release date are off.

‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Cast

According to the concluding scenes of the finale episode, John B and Sarah have a new task. So, Chase Stokes and Madelyn Cline will very probably reprise their roles in “Outer Banks” Season 4. Other stars expected to return include Rudy Pankow as JJ, Madison Bailey as Kiara (Kie), Jonathan Daviss as Pope, Carlacia Grant as Cleo, Drew Starkey as Rafe, Austin North as Topper, Nicholas Cirillo as Barry and Julie Antonelli as Wheezie.

Big John (Charles Halford), after taking this long to find, will not be returning for “Outer Banks” Season 4. Big John and Ward were both murdered off in the finale, their bones resting somewhere in the rainforest, so viewers also say farewell to the somewhat redeemable Ward and the actor who played him, Charles Esten.

‘Outer Banks’ Season 4 Spoilers

Despite the fact that the last scenes of the finale show Sarah and John B seeming pretty satisfied with their surf shop 18 months after discovering El Dorado, there's clearly something brewing for “Outer Banks” Season 4. When a stranger arrives, he brings with him a manuscript documenting Blackbeard the pirate's captain's log.

"Blackbeard is part of Outer Banks lore, and so there's just a lot of stuff we can work with out of that. It is going to be a part of it, but it's not going to be a traditional Blackbeard-type tale, although we're using elements of the mythology going forward,” series co-creator Josh Pate told The Hollywood Reporter of “Outer Banks” Season 4.

"As far as the time jump, we felt like we needed to get them out of school. The actors are a little older, and it was harder to keep them in high school. We just wanted to move them into a new phase in their lives and move them forward a little bit,” Josh added.
