'Once Upon A Time' Season 5 Episode 12 Recap: Will they rescue Hook?

Have you seen the latest episode of the hit TV series ‘Once Upon A Time’, because if you did then you surely know how amazing it was? But if you haven’t got the time to watch it then worry no more because within this article are spoilers and reviews about episode 12 titled “Souls of the Departed”.

Everyone have heard of the buzz about Emma and the others setting foot on the Underworld and their mission of saving Hook. As they set foot in the most dreaded place, Emma receives a “long-distance call from an old friend,” in the form of Neal Cassidy, advising her of the horrors that are within the place and telling her that “it’s not an easy place to leave”.

Neal assured her that he is not in the Underworld as he has no unfinished business, which makes Emma question herself when they arrive in the screwy Storybrooke about Hook being in the Underworld as he has no unfinished business. Rumpled informed her that every Dark One surely does, and the group splits up.

As the others split up, Regina and Robin (Sean Maguire) are searching for Hook, when they realize that they are being followed by one of the townspersons. He leads them to Regina’s mother, Cora, who seems to have some place of hierarchy in the Underworld. She begs Regina to abandon her friends and to return home with Robin and Henry, even offering her a rare boat to escape.

Even Emma told Regina to go back with Henry but instead Regina summoned his father and apologized for killing him.  Henry Sr. then warns that Cora is playing Regina, that his daughter’s friends need her as part of this mission. Regina never left the group which infuriated her mother but this resulted to her father being passed on to a heaven like place. It turned out that her father’s unfinished business was Regina.

Rumple, on the other hand, had his own fair share of leave-this-place advice from his father Pan as he was on the Underworld version of his shop. Pan then gives him a potion that when poured into someone’s grave would allow them to talk to the dead person.

Emma then pours it to Killian’s grave and saw Hook all beaten up and bloodied, unfortunately the two weren’t able to communicate as the image was blurry and the spell was unsteady.

With what they have witnessed in Regina’s father, they have convened that not only are they going to rescue Hook but they will also help the people finish their business. This idea surely angered Hades as he does not want the dead leave the Underworld. Thus, the team will have to come up with a plan to take down the ruler of the Underworld.
