Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang is expected to join a group of top American business leaders accompanying U.S. President Donald Trump during his upcoming visit to China, according to two Reuters sources familiar with the matter. The trip is drawing attention as U.S.-China technology relations remain tense, particularly in the semiconductor and artificial intelligence sectors.
Huang was reportedly not included on an earlier White House list of executives scheduled to participate in the visit. His attendance signals the growing importance of Nvidia in global technology and AI discussions, especially as demand for advanced AI chips continues to surge worldwide.
The development also comes amid ongoing restrictions surrounding Nvidia’s high-performance H200 AI chips. A U.S. official stated last month that the chips have not yet been sold in China due to challenges in securing approval from Chinese authorities. The issue highlights the complicated relationship between the United States and China over advanced semiconductor exports and AI technology regulations.
Nvidia has become one of the world’s most influential chipmakers, driven by strong demand for its AI processors used in data centers, machine learning, and generative AI applications. Any movement involving the company and China is closely watched by investors, policymakers, and the global tech industry.
The White House has not issued an official response regarding Huang’s reported participation in the trip. Meanwhile, analysts believe the visit could open discussions on trade, artificial intelligence, semiconductor policies, and future cooperation between U.S. technology companies and Chinese markets.
As geopolitical tensions continue to shape the global tech landscape, Nvidia remains at the center of conversations involving AI innovation, chip exports, and international business strategy.
