Nikkei up over 2 pct, gold and silver down

Only Japanese markets start a new week on a positive note. All other Asian indices are trading on a lower note on Monday. On the other side, gold and silver were trading lower in early hours of Asia. Gold was trading around $1,315 and silver was trading around $18.43 levels.

Japan’s Nikkei 225 was trading 2.24 percent higher at 16,727.42 points.

South Korea’s Kospi was trading around 0.30 percent lower at 2,030.11 points.

Shanghai composite index to open down 0.1 pct at 3,068.46 points and China's CSI300 index to open flat at 3,306.57 points.

Hong Kong's Hang Seng was trading 0.33 percent lower at 22,835.24 points.

Australia's S&P/ASX 200 was trading 1.09 percent lower at 5,455.10 points.
