Anyone watched the new trailer for Hulu’s highly-anticipated series “The Handmaid’s Tale”?
The trailer showed snippets of the life of Offred, a Handmaid whose role in the totalitarian regime of Gilead (formerly known as the United States) is to breed and sire children for the rich. In the book, the women are being treated as nothing more than just wives, servants, or breeders, like Offred. The series is based from the 1985 novel by Margaret Atwood, who is also onboard in the project as a consultant, Digital Spy said. In a Reddit AMA, she said she was happy with the TV adaptation by “The 100”’s Bruce Miller. She also teased that there is more to the TV adaptation that’s what she wrote in the book.
She explained, "Based on what I've seen, it's a 1. My criteria: puddle of goo on the floor [by the] end of episode 3. Gasp. Shriek. It goes farther than I did in the book…"
