Netflix is planning to release more video games this year, and it could add around 40 new titles this year, including Ubisoft exclusives. The video-streaming giant said that many more are currently in development.
Subscribers of Netflix can expect to see new game releases every month this year. The titles could be from well-known game developers or from its own in-house gaming studio.
One of its popular video games on the platform is probably the "Squid Game," which apparently was based on the massively popular Korean drama series of the same title. Aside from this, Netflix also of many good games in its own catalog, which is growing steadily.
Netflix confirmed earlier this week that it is set to release 40 additional video games this year, and it is working with some partners to develop 30 more titles. As of this time, 16 new games are being produced in its gaming studio.
As per CNET, some of the titles that will be released soon include Ubisoft's "Mighty Quest: Rogue Palace," which is set to be launched on April 18. Subscribers can expect more games based on popular shows on the Netflix streaming platform.
"The opportunity to expand the worlds of Netflix films and series through games is incredibly exciting to us," the company stated.
Netflix entered the gaming space in 2021, and it has expanded in this area since then. It now has 55 titles of different genres on its site. The games are accessible via mobile phones and devices operating on Android or Apple's OS. The games are available to all Netflix subscribers, and there is no additional fee to play them.
"Our goal is to develop a broad portfolio of games in different genres and formats," Market Watch quoted Netflix as saying in a separate statement for its upcoming game releases. "Members will discover indie darlings, award-winning hits, RPGs, narrative adventures, puzzle games and everything in between, and we are working with the world's leading studios to bring you these games."
