NH NongHyup Bank will utilize the Naver Cloud Platform (NCP) to operate its mobile-based financial services, All One Bank, becoming the first company in the local banking industry to use a public cloud system.
The lender will also employ the financial public cloud system offered by NCP in managing a vast amount of customer information.
The partnership with NCP would help prevent unexpected server overloads within the bank’s own digital banking services system caused by heavy outbound internet traffic.
The lender is slated to launch an interbank transfer payment service on its mobile application, using a cloud-based technology called “optical character recognition,” which digitally converts typed or handwritten text on paper bills.
Lee Sang-rae, vice president of NH NongHyup Bank’s digital finance division, shared that the bank would develop various digital financial services and business models through its cooperation with NCP.
The bank also assured those who expressed concern about the safety of using outside servers, noting that NCP’s financial cloud platform scored 100 percent on the safety assessment by the Financial Security Institute.
