HINGHAM, Mass., Jan. 05, 2017 -- Microbot Medical Inc. (NasdaqCM:MBOT), a medical device company specializing in the design and development of transformational micro-robotic medical technologies, announced today that it has entered into a securities purchase agreement with one institutional investor to purchase 700,000 shares of common stock for total gross proceeds of $3.5 million, before deducting placement agent fees and offering expenses. The offering is expected to close on January 6, 2016, subject to satisfaction of customary closing conditions.
The Company expects to use the resources from the financing to further develop the Company’s transformational micro-robotic technologies that are designed to treat and diagnose various medical conditions and for general corporate purposes. The Company’s initial products are expected to address the unmet medical needs for Cerebrospinal Fluid (CSF) and Gastrointestinal (GI), and are expected to be submitted to the FDA in the near future.
