SAN JOSE, Calif., Feb. 28, 2018 --

WHAT:		What if a family cut off from clean water due to a disaster could quickly filter water from nearly any source to regain access to safe drinking water? What if industries that produce large amounts of wastewater, such as mining, could cost effectively filter it to a cleanliness level that it can be introduced to local waterways or the water table?

		No longer a “what if,” Mesofilter will unveil its latest breakthrough filtration medium; the first paper filter capable of immobilizing harmful pollutants such as arsenic, heavy metals, bacteria, viruses and radioactive elements without the use of pressure, chemicals, electrical potential, or plastic, and with no hazardous filtration byproducts.

		Mesofilter will hold a press conference to discuss one of the world’s biggest problems, the lack of access to clean water and air free of these hazardous contaminates, and what steps can be taken to improve human health. The session titled, “A New Material to Solve the Global Arsenic and Lead Problem,” will include:

WHY:		Everyone deserves access to safe water, but by 2025, it is estimated that more than one-third of the world’s population will not have access to clean drinking water. Arsenic poisoning alone affects 200 million people worldwide and in the United States, 170 million people drink water containing cancer-causing, radioactive elements. According to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), arsenic, lead, and mercury are the three most hazardous threats to human heath, and the consumption of these hazardous materials often comes from contaminated water and air.
