Mark Harmon Reportedly Breaks Silence on His Rumored 'NCIS' Exit Following Pauley Perrette's Departure

Mark Harmon has been rumored to leave “NCIS” not just once but many times before. Despite the continuous reporting about his supposed departure, the 67-year-old veteran actor never confirmed nor denied the reports. But this time, he decided to address the issue once and for all.

According to Page Six, Mark Harmon is not leaving “NCIS” and debunked the stories that he is leaving due to his failing health. This confirmation came directly from the actor’s representative after the publication reached out to his camp for clarification.

In any case, Mark Harmon’s alleged plans of retreating from “NCIS” started when he was hospitalized due to some health issues a few years ago. The rumors were heightened when co-star Pauley Perrette left the show after an alleged ugly fight with Harmon.

Based on the stories, Mark Harmon and Pauley Perrette had a falling out when the former’s dog bit a crew while they were filming “NCIS.” The actress was said to be furious because despite what happened, the actor still brings his dog to the set.

While there is no proof if this was really the reason why Pauley Perrette withdrew from the series, many people believe it is the truth because the actress also posted cryptic messages on her social media. Her posts seemed to be hinting that it is true that her relationship with "NCIS" colleagues had turned sour.

Meanwhile, the latest reports stated that Mark Harmon is giving up his Leroy Jethro Gibbs character after receiving an offer to be the executive producer of an upcoming CBS show that will be based on the “Prey” book series. But apparently, this is not true as well and Gibbs is staying until the end of “NCIS.”

Mark Harmon’s “NCIS” season 16 is still airing and the 17th installment is expected to follow. The actor still serves as its lead star and executive producer.
