Rumors about Mark Harmon’s exit from “NCIS” continue to swirl and this time they are saying that he will not be on “NCIS” season 17 anymore. Before the sixteenth season aired, there were many reports that the 67-year-old actor is leaving but the claims were proven false when fans still see Agent Leroy Jethro Gibbs in the show.

“NCIS” season 16 premiered with Mark Harmon still leading the team and the fact that he signed a new deal with CBS means that he has no plans of retiring as Agent Gibbs yet. And although the current season is not even halfway done yet, fans are already talking about the next season and they are worried that this time Harmon will really leave.

Mark Harmon’s exit from “NCIS” season 17 surfaced after fans theorized that another important character is likely to be ejected from the NCIS team and this assumption has been based on the latest development in the show’s plot. It was said that someone could get into hot water as the Secretary of Defense may start an investigation that will result to at least one person being found at fault and eventually lose his or her job.

If this will really be the case and Mark Harmon’s character is set to be removed, then this will be the second major cast exit in the recent months. It can be recalled that Pauley Perrette left “NCIS” and did not appear in season 16 anymore. The cause of her departure is still not clear but she hinted that there are irregularities inside the show and she could have suffered from some forms of abuse too.

There were also allegations that she fought with Mark Harmon and this led to her resignation. Whatever the truth for her decision to quit, it is still a mystery to the fans.

Meanwhile, CBS has not commented on the rumors that Mark Harmon is leaving after “NCIS” season 16. Thus, the answer will be known once the next installment starts its production.
