In Malaysia, Prime Minister Najib Razak reshuffled his Cabinet on Tuesday.
The most important change was the exclusion of Deputy Prime Minister and UMNO Deputy President Muhyiddin Yassin, who recently had expressed concerns about the ongoing 1MDB investigation and has been openly critical of the prime minister.
"This reshuffle is unlikely to have a significant effect on policy-making, but the changes consolidate Najib's position within the Cabinet and the ruling party; at the margin, this should allay concerns of an early leadership transition", says Barclays.
