Eads’ departure from the CBS show has been reported for months now. Though official parties have yet to comment on the rumors, his character Jack was missing for no apparent reason in the show’s latest episode. Luckily for fans, he is sure to return next week in “MacGyver” season 3 episode 14.
Reports about Eads leaving the show first came out in November. A source confirmed the news to various outlets last year adding that Jack will be seen for one last episode airing in 2019. Thus, the speculations that “MacGyver” season 3 episode 14 will feature Mac and Jack's farewell.
There are various reports on what caused Eads’ early departure from the show. Deadline suggested it was because of the major change in filming locations. Production of “MacGyver” season 3 transferred from Los Angeles to Atlanta. The Hollywood Reporter, on the other hand, said the actor was involved in an “altercation” last October on set.
Whether “MacGyver” season 3 episode 14 is Jack’s last stint, Deadline reported that the character will not die. This means there is a chance for Eads to return in the future.
Meanwhile, Jack’s potential last mission with Mac in “MacGyver” season 3 episode 14 is interesting. The operation begins when Matty (Meredith Eaton) is contacted by a notorious crime boss (Roberto Sanchez). He promised to surrender on the condition that he gets to return to the U.S. and, first, attend his daughter’s (Madalyn Horcher) wedding.
Of course, fans should not expect everything to go as smoothly as planned. But Mac and the team infiltrate the wedding but the synopsis hints, “[The] team crash the wedding to ensure the crime lord doesn't run, only to discover they're not the only ones lying in wait at the event.” The deal — even possibly the wedding — is just a ruse so the high-profile criminal can hide somewhere in the U.S. "MacGyver” season 3 episode 14 will air on Friday, Feb. 1, at 8 p.m. ET on CBS.
