MIT Enterprise Forum Of NYC To Hold Blockchain Event On February 09

Digital Trust in a Blockchain World’ – an event organized by MIT Enterprise Forum of NYC is scheduled to be held on 09 February at 6:00 pm at PwC Auditorium 300 Madison Ave (at 42nd Street) New York. The event is being sponsored by PwC.

“This event brings together leading figures shaping the direction of bitcoin and blockchain and our panel will discuss their vision of a Blockchain World - how it will unfold and the impact it will have both on traditional financial institutions and individuals”, the official page reads.

It is expected to discuss topics such as trustless vs. permissioned and validated ledgers, using game theory to strengthen foundational rules governing bitcoin and blockchain approaches and lessons learned as blockchain innovation continues to grow.

The panelists include some prominent members of the industry:

Michael Casey: He joined MIT Media Lab’s center for Digital Currency Initiative as Senior Advisor to build awareness around digital currencies and the underlying blockchain technology.   He has also co-authored the critically acclaimed book, “The Age of Cryptocurrency: How Bitcoin and Digital Money are Challenging the Global Economic Order”.

Marco Santori: He is the winner of the first annual Blockchain Award for Bitcoin Legal Expert. As Chairman of the Bitcoin Foundation's Regulatory Affairs Committee, he has up-to-date knowledge of the latest industry trends. Marco is a recognized authority in the law of digital currencies and emerging blockchain technologies. He counsels banks, broker-dealers, exchanges, wallets, payment processors, institutional miners, and others making new uses of distributed ledger technology.

Fredrik Voss: He re-joined Nasdaq in 2008 as the Vice President Blockchain Innovation where he is responsible for Nasdaq's blockchain innovation initiative. In this role he is advising the C-suite on corporate objectives and strategies for Nasdaq's activities in the blockchain space and also responsible for implementation and communication of approved strategies. 

George W. Prokop: He co-leads the Strategic Threat Management and Corporate Intelligence practices at PricewaterhouseCoopers and is a senior leader in a variety of client and internal PwC initiatives related to bitcoin and blockshain innovation.

John Burnett: He is leading the effort to explore the application of Blockchain technology across State Street, within the recently formed Emerging Technologies Center.  Prior to joining State Street, he was Director of Competitive and Marketplace Strategy; Enterprise Growth Strategy and Innovation Group at American Express.
