Arte Moreno is exploring a sale of the Major League Baseball (MLB) franchise Los Angeles Angels owner.
The 76-year-old team owner, who bought the Angles for US$184 million from the Walt Disney Company in 2003, confirmed he had started a formal process to examine options, including a potential sale of the club.
Since Moreno acquired the Angels, it has won six division titles but none since 2014. The franchise’s one and only World Series triumph came in 2002.
The Angels were valued at US$2.2 billion in Forbes’ latest MLB rankings, putting them ninth.
