Reality star Kim Kardashian has offered to pay for the medical bill of a protester who got injured while attending a protest on the horrible death of black American George Floyd in Minneapolis.
Kanye West's better half posted on her Instagram and Twitter accounts a photo of a young woman with her eye and face injured after she was hit by a rubber bullet.
Kim had asked how she can get in touch with the woman so she can help with her medical care, that is, if she needed it.
The Keeping Up With The Kardashian star was directed to an account, @shannynsharye, who posted the same snap along with another photo taken in the hospital.
The owner of the account wrote on the caption that she had joined the protest and was recording it when a rubber bullet hit her.
She also reposted the message of Kim and made a clarification on where she is from and her age.
According to the photo that Kim had posted on her accounts, she was described as a teenager in high school and had joined the protest in Minneapolis.
She clarified that she was 23 years old and is from Louisville, Kentucky.
Several protests have been held in response to the police brutality that resulted in the death of Floyd. The victim had been accused of buying cigarettes with a fake bill in a corner store. And, the police were called in to make an arrest.
Video footage on Floyd’s arrest shows that a white police officer, Derek Chauvin, had shoved his knee on the back of Floyd’s neck as the latter was lying on the ground on his stomach. Chauvin had kept his knee in position even though Floyd was shouting that he could not breathe until he passed out. He was brought to the hospital where he eventually died.
