Leaders of G-7 countries, United States, Japan, Germany, Italy, United Kingdom and Canada have reached Japan and meeting has officially began about 10 hours ago. The meeting is expected to focus on Economy, the need for fiscal stimulus, trade deal, terrorism, Brexit, and aggressive China, North Korea and Russia.
Several statements has already hit the wires from the leaders and their aides –
- President of the European Commission, Jean Claude Juncker said that Brexit campaigner Boris Johnson’s facts are not in line with reality. He has also warned China on its over capacity and warned that Europe is ready to take measures to protect domestic industries. He was referring to the Steel Industry, which came to focus after TATA closed its UK plant.
- David Cameron has also warned China over steel dumping.
- European council president called for actions to stem aggressive China in South China Sea. Leaders have called China to abide by International arbitration. He also talked in similar line regarding East China Sea and Russia-Ukraine tensions. He also said that he is looking for international support in Refugee crisis.
- Japanese Prime Minister Shinzo Abe, has warned that current situation in commodities and emerging market similar or worse than great recession, urging leaders to do more.
- U.S. president Barrack Obama warned over aggressive North Korea, and that world leaders are rattled by the prospects that Donald Trump to become U.S. President.
- EU and Japan has agreed to speed up trade and finish it mostly by end of the year.
