The first season of “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” was received well and that explains why there is a continuing demand for the anime to be renewed. The franchise still has an active manga series while its recently released live-action movie is also doing well in the Japanese box office. However, none of these factors seem to push the producers to confirm that they will release “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2 in the future.
‘Kaguya-Sama: Love is War’ season 2 release date, status of anime series still unknown
Despite the lack of any update on the making “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2, there are several factors that keep the fans’ hopes up for the continuation of the anime series. For one, the producers are aware of the franchise’s popularity that it released a live-action movie based on the same title manga.
It's opening weekend earlier this month performed well in Japan’s box office that it immediately took first place on the list. Even though it was not able to maintain its top position, Crunchyroll reports that around 202,000 tickets were sold on the Sept. 14-15 weekend. It helped boost the movie’s sales up to 1.1 billion yen or over $10 million within only 10 days of its premiere. The movie practically covers the events from season 1, so it does not spoil the plot should the producers eventually decided to make “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2.
‘Kaguya-Sama: Love is War’ season 2 spoilers: Will Kaguya and Miyuki end up together?
The first season had 12 episodes, but it was enough to introduce its romantic-comedy theme elevated by the intelligent back-and-forth of Kaguya and Miyuki on who should confess their feelings first. However, those 12 episodes barely scratched the surface and fans who loved the anime certainly need to see what happens next, preferably, through “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2.
However, since “Kaguya-Sama: Love is War” season 2 is not confirmed yet, anime fans might want to consider following the story by reading the manga. It now has over 160 chapters, and the latest installment answers whether Shinomiya and Kaguya finally decided to be in a relationship.
