India sees weak gold demand, zero gold coin sales in US

In the precious metals, gold was only one to earn modestly b 0.3% yesterday and is trading at $1080 per troy ounce today morning, getting help from weak USD.

Slight inflows were seen in gold ETFs as tracked by Bloomberg yesterday for first time in 14 days of trading.

Physical gold demand in India seems lowered currently, the prices in India are trading at a discount to world market prices for the first time from November beginning.

The gold coin sales in US, which were high last month, saw a reversal, US Mint sold zero gold coins and very few silver coins in the month of December.

Spot gold climbed 0.3 pct to $1077.60 per troy ounce, after 0.4 pct rise on Tuesday as USD fell against some major currencies.
