DALLAS, March 29, 2018 -- Partners Scott Harper, Shannon Bates and Austin Champion are pleased to announce their law firm assumed the new name Harper Bates & Champion LLP, effective March 5, 2018. Formerly Griffith Bates Champion & Harper LLP, the name change reflects the recent departure of former partner Casey Griffith, who transitioned from the firm to pursue a separate endeavor.
“As we continue to evolve and shape our practice, we remain convinced that our clients want more than legal advice from their law firm – they want a partner who understands their business,” Harper said. “We remain committed to providing high quality legal representation and exceptional service to our clients through this transition.”
The firm leverages its strengths in intellectual property and litigation to help clients navigate the challenges and opportunities presented to their businesses. Harper Bates & Champion’s attorneys begin that process by developing a thorough understanding of a client’s broader goals and ambitions.
“Our firm is passionate about working with individuals and large corporations alike to maximize value and tap the full potential of their brands and intellectual property,” Champion said. “We are executing on this mission by intentionally enhancing our focus in these areas to help clients grow, manage and defend their valuable business assets.”
The firm continues to expand and recently added trademark associate Laura Brock and litigation associate Ben Jones to strengthen the firm’s growing practice.
“We consider ourselves intellectual property lawyers and litigators who think like business owners and brand managers. We use the tools of our law practice to advance, strengthen and protect our clients’ brands,” Bates added. “Whether filing a patent application, obtaining a trademark registration or defending a client’s trade secrets in litigation, the bottom line is that our firm is committed to helping clients capitalize on the assets that serve as the foundation of their businesses.”
The firm’s website is now available at www.harperbates.com.
