INSEE French business climate index flat at 102 in November

As expected, France’s business climate remained unchanged in November. The INSEE business climate indicator stood at 102 in November, the same as in October. The business climate indicator of October this year in France has been raised slightly as compared to its initial estimation and the rounded figure has switched to 102, noted INSEE. Especially, the manufacturing industry index has been upwardly revised by one point. The business climate indicator of September 2016 in wholesale trade has been downwardly revised due to updated coefficients for seasonal adjustment.

For the month of November the French business climate in services has rebounded a tad. The business climate composition indicator rose by one point to 102, which is slightly above its long-term average of 100. Meanwhile, the business climate in manufacturing remained unchanged at 103 in November, the same as in October.

The business climate indicator for building construction and retail trade also rose in the month of November, rising to 99 and 104, respectively. On the other hand, the business climate in wholesale trade sector continues to deteriorate. The business climate composite indicator dropped two points and stands at 96.
