Guide to today’s important data and events

Lot of economic dockets scheduled for today, with low to medium risks associated.

Data released so far:

  • Germany - Producer price index remained at same level of June in July, still down -1.3% from a year ago.
  • Switzerland - Trade balance grew again in July to 3.741 billion from 3.51 billion.
  • Greece - Current account balance rose to 1 billion in June from 0.4 billion in May.
  • UK - Headline retail sales rose by 0.1%, lower than expected at 0.4%, however retail sales excluding fuel rose by 0.4% compared to -0.3% drop prior.

Upcoming:

  • UK - Conference board industrial trends survey to be released at 10:00 GMT.
  • Portugal - Current account balance for June to be released today.
  • US - Initial jobless claims to be released at 12:30 GMT, followed by CB leading indicator at 14:00 GMT, along with Philadelphia FED manufacturing survey and existing home sales. EIA will release weekly natural gas report at 14:30 GMT.
