Guide to today’s important data and events

Lot of economic dockets scheduled for today but all with low to medium risks associated.

Data released so far 

  • New Zealand - ANZ commodity price rose by 0.4% in February after -2.3% slump in January.
     
  • Australia - Trade balance for January came at -$2.94 billion with 1% rise in exports and -1% drop in imports.
     
  • China - Caixin services PMI dropped to 51.2 in February from 52.4 in January.

Upcoming 

  • France - ILO unemployment report for fourth quarter will be released at 6:30 GMT, followed by Markit services PMI at 8:50 GMT.
  • UK - Nationwide house prices for February will be released at 7:00 GMT. Halifax house prices data will be released at 8:30 GMT. Services PMI will be released at 9:30 GMT.
  • Spain - Markit services PMI will be released at 8:15 GMT.
  • Italy - Markit services PMI will be released at 8:45 GMT.
  • Germany - Markit services PMI will be released at 8:55 GMT.
  • Euro Zone - Markit services PMI will be released at 9:00 GMT, followed by January retail sales report at 10:00 GMT.
  • US - Challenger Job cuts will be announced at 12:30 GMT, followed by weekly jobless claims report at 13:30 GMT, along with non-farm productivity and unit labour cost. Markit services PMI will be released at 14:45 GMT, followed by ISM manufacturing PMI at 15:00 GMT, along with Factory orders. EIA will release natural gas inventory report at 15:30 GMT.
