Green Thumb Industries (GTI), a national cannabis cultivator and dispensary operator dedicated to providing dignified access to safe and effective cannabis, welcomed patients today at RISE Erie, its first medical marijuana dispensary in the state of Pennsylvania and ninth dispensary overall. GTI will debut RISE Steelton and RISE Carlisle in Pennsylvania within the next month, and expects to have 20 dispensaries operating in five states by the end of 2018.
“We are so grateful to the state of Pennsylvania and the Erie community for the warm reception we received Monday at our open house and ribbon cutting ceremony,” says GTI’s Pennsylvania Market President Tim Hawkins. “It was such an honor to greet our patients, conduct tours and educate the public about the state’s medical marijuana program. We have been looking forward to providing relief to patients for a long time and are thrilled that day is finally here.”
The open house earlier this week attracted hundreds of community members, including patients who spoke about their life-changing experience with medical marijuana and local officials supportive of the state’s medical marijuana program.
“I had an opportunity to tour the new medical marijuana facility RISE on West 8th Street and speak with management from the company,” said Erie City Councilman Bob Merski. “Medical marijuana is saving lives and providing relief to patients in many states. We are fortunate to now have medical marijuana available to patients in Pennsylvania.”
RISE Erie is located at 2108 West 8th Street and open to patients Monday through Friday from 9:00 am to 7:00 pm and Saturday from 9:00 am to 2:00 pm.
