Dublin, Sept. 15, 2016 -- Research and Markets has announced the addition of the "Global Ride-by-Wire in Motorcycles Market 2016-2021" report to their offering.
The ride-by-wire technology helps to deliver smoother acceleration and improved fuel economy. Ride by-Wire throttle Control does not require a mechanical actuator to operate the throttle, but instead has an Electronic Control Module (ECM) operating the throttle. The ECM typically uses a voltage signal to command throttle position. Based on the throttle input signal, the ECU actuates the fuel injector to deliver optimum fuel input to the cylinder.
The use of ride-by-wire technology opens the possibility of advanced rider assistance and safety features such as cruise control, traction control and ride mode selector. Ride by Wire system comes as standard on certain models of premium motorcycles like Triumph Tiger Explorer, Explorer XC, Triumph Trophy and Trophy SE, Ducati Diavel Carbon, Ducati Monster 821, Ducati Monster 1200, Kawasaki ZX10, Yamaha R6, R1, Aprilia RSV4, Honda VFR1200F, and other large displacement bikes. However, the technology is slowly trickling down to lower displacement bikes as KTM has decided to offer ride by wire on its upcoming generation of KTM 390.
